Who runs this site

epicjared.com is the personal website of Jared Guynes of Rockwall, Texas ("we", "us"). Questions about privacy go to me@epicjared.com.

What we collect

You can read every page without signing up for anything, and the site has no contact forms. We collect only the following.

• Analytics. Google Analytics 4 records which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (city or region, not exact location), the type of device and browser, the site that sent you here, and a few actions such as playing a video or clicking through to one of Jared's social accounts. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use these numbers only in aggregate, to see what people read.
• Server logs. Like nearly every web server, ours records each request: the IP address, browser, page and time. These logs are kept for about two weeks for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
• Email. If you email us, we use your message and address to reply, and nothing else.

We do not sell or share personal information, we do not run advertising, and we do not use your information to profile you.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics cookies, _ga and _ga_5YPTP84NC5, which tell visits apart so they are counted correctly. They are first-party cookies and last up to two years. No advertising cookies are used.

The site also remembers your cookie choice in your own browser's local storage, so it doesn't ask again.

Your choice. Use Cookie preferences (also in the footer of every page) to turn analytics on or off for this browser. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics is off until you turn it on. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

Other services the site uses

• Google provides Google Analytics and the Google tag that loads it. See Google's privacy policy.
• YouTube. Videos on this site are not loaded until you press play. When you do, the video comes from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube's own policy applies.
• jsDelivr, a content delivery network, serves the code for the 3D blaster on the home page. Like any web server it receives your IP address when it sends that file.

Links to other sites, such as Jared's social accounts, the event site or news articles, are governed by those sites' own policies once you follow them.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used. Email me@epicjared.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR and UK GDPR give you these rights. We rely on your consent for analytics there, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure for server logs. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the same rights under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information.

Children

This site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS, with modern security headers. If you find a security problem, see our security.txt.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
